Jason was a quiet child. Kinda shy most the time. He was the pitcher on his high school baseball team. He was on Junior National Honor Society, Boy Scouts and had several girls calling him. During his Senior year, he fell in with some rather shady "friends". He began getting into trouble and quit high school. I finally had to try the tough love when he would not keep a job or stay home when ask to. He was constantly asking for gas money and would not tell us where all he was going. Borrowing money and toward the last he was stealing from us and ponding things. I gave him 2 weeks to find a job and show us that he was serious about getting his life together. Nothing happened after that 2 weeks, so he moved in with his Grandparents. He went to classes for his GED. 2 weeks later was Easter. We all got together at my parents for Easter. We had a wonderful day. He told me he was leaving and gave me a hug and told me he loved me. That was the last time I saw my son. We recieved that dreaded call at work and hurried home. My handsome son and the girls were in his s10 pickup when tboned by a cement truck. They had no time for pain. My GQ man as I called him was gone. He was a very handsome man. The neighborhood that he was hanging out at offered buses to the funeral home. There were over 200 people who signed his book. They also had a candlelight memorial for him and the girls. I found out that he was taking the elderly and handicaped to thier Dr. appointments and getting their medications for them. He was buying food for the kids that had none. My son was playing Robin Hood and I never knew it. Why he never told me, I will never know.
